Dentures

Dentures are artificial replacements for all or some of your teeth that have been lost due to age, disease, accident or poor oral hygiene. Dentures can help you with improved mastication (being able to chew food), and aesthetics. There are two types of dentures:

Partial dentures: Partial dentures are suitable for candidates who still have some of their natural teeth that are healthy. Partial dentures are also called “removable partial denture prostheses” or “partials.” These can be removed at night for cleaning.

Complete Dentures: These are used in the instance of all missing natural teeth. These can also be taken out at night to be cleaned. Although extremely convenient, they can take some to get used to as they can cause some soreness in the beginning. These dentures are held in place by suction.

It is imperative to keep your dentures clean just like your natural teeth in order to prevent stains, bad-breath or gum disease. They need to be cleaned every night regularly to maintain optimal cleanliness. Christine, our dedicated Denturist can evaluate your best options with you.
