Sedation Dentist in Etobicoke Ontario

Mimico Creek Dental offers a variety of sedation methods to keep you relaxed and comfortable during your procedure:

General Anesthesia

General anesthesia is ideal for patients who are feeling nervous or anxious about their dental appointment. It’s also useful if the patient requires multiple procedures in the same appointment. Also known as “sleep dentistry”, this powerful sedation puts the patient in an unconscious comfortable state during the procedure.

Oral Conscious Sedation

This form of sedation requires the patient to take an oral sedative prior to their visit. By the time that they arrive, the patient will be in a relaxed state. Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, may also be given to increase the relaxation effects. The amount of gas that you receive will be closely monitored so that you will remain comfortable.

IV Conscious Sedation

This form of sedation is given via IV, which puts the patient in a completely relaxed “twilight” state. Because the sedative effects are strong, the patient may not remember all aspects of their procedure. However, they will still be able to respond to simple verbal cues and commands from the dentist. You will likely need someone to drive you home since the sedative effects take some time to wear off.
